Oshii is one of the greatest directors of animation in the history of the world. At the very least, I'd place him somewhere in the line-up between Hayao Miyazaki and John Lasseter.
Being the old guy that I am, I'm reminded of such impactful films that changed my personal beliefs about what an animation could aspire to, such as Jin-Roh, Patlabor Movie 2, Innocence and more recently, Sky Crawlers.
I could go on and on about each of these films and maybe a few others, but I'm just gonna drop two cents worth today.
Hopefully the forum will wake up a bit in the near future and we can have some engaging exchanges amongst fans of great storytelling and great music, especially that which originates from Asia at large.
